TOUR OF CYPRUS 2010
The "Tour of Cyprus 2010" will take place between 25-28 March and will be open to international participants. Cyclists will complete a tour of approximately 400 km with certain time taking sections that the cyclists can compete for a yellow or green or red jersey (group A). Amateur riders (group B)will do the same routes with relax speeds and no time taking sections and in certain cases they will be doing shorter rides. All riders have the option to complete as many stages as they wish.The Tour is fully supported.
ToC Goals and objectives
• To bring professional and amateur cyclists and teams to Cyprus to participate in a world class multistage
tour of the Republic.
• To establish a significant multi-stage event on the international cycling calendar.
• To promote Cyprus worldwide as a cycling tourism destination – we want to introduce international
cyclists to the island’s breathtaking mountain rides and Mediterranean vistas and its warm climate.
• To heighten awareness of the ecological, economic and health benefits of cycling.
• To enable participants and spectators to appreciate the beauty, cuisine and hospitality of Cyprus.
• To draw attention to the need for increased road safety and for “share the road” programs.
• To provide an opportunity for cyclists from all over Europe and elsewhere to socialize and make friends.
• To raise money for participating charitable organizations.
• To provide brand exposure for all of our sponsors.
